Baptism Bible Study

I would like to share that this was something that I wanted to talk with all of you about but I also wanted to end this year with a study on Baptism because this is something that I felt God laid on my heart but it is something that I have thought about doing because I have wondered what it would be like to be baptized now that I'm older. I was baptized as a infant, later on I did profession of faith and then sometime after that I thought of being baptized because I feel that by me being baptized now, would help me grow stronger in my relationship with God and in my Faith walk with Him. I am thankful for God who has helped me, and continues to help me. I'm thankful for everyone that God has put in my life to help me grow spiritually but to also make me feel I belong. I'm grateful and humbly thankful to know that in God's Timing, He will help me see that no matter what I go through in life, that He will keep revealing things to me.

I would now like for us to look at some scriptures. The scriptures that we are going to be looking at are 1 Peter 3:21, John 3:5, Acts 22:16, Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Romans 6 verses 3-4, Ephesians 4:5,Acts 2:41, Matthew 3:11, Matthew 3:16, Acts 8:36-38, John 1:33,  Acts 10:47, Acts 10:48, and the last five verses that we are going to look at are Titus 3:5, Mark 1:4, John 3:16-17, Acts 16:1-40, and Romans 6:11.

I would like to share two different songs with you. The first one comes from Aaron Shust with his song titled My Savior My God. The lyrics say this: I am not skilled to understand

What God has willed what God Has planned

I only know at his right hand

Stands one who is my Savior

I take him at his word and deed

Christ died to save me this I read

And in my heart I find the need

Of him to be my Savior

That he would leave his place on high

And come for sinful man to die

You called it strange so once did I

Before I knew my Savior

My Savior loves

My Savior lives

My Savior's always there for me

My God he was

My God he is

My God is always gonna be

Yes living, dying let me bring

My strength my Solace from the Spring

That he who lives to be my king

Once died to be my Savior

The next song is from Benjamin James with a song of his called Baptize Me and the lyrics say this: Baptize me where the wind sings new songs

And flows deep in my lungs, to breathe Kingdom come

Baptize me when the rain falls on the sea

And stairs back at me, baptize me

Baptize me in the heat of the burning sun

That causes all growth to come, where death and life are one

Baptize me with the birds in the morning

With the leaves in their turning, baptize me

In what was, in what is, in what's coming

Baptize me

Baptize me up in the mountains

Through rivers up fountains,

Through the forest surrounding

Baptize me in the eyes of my brother

In the love of my mother, baptize me

I would like to share something I found on Google where the title says A Chosen Child and the rest says: You're a chosen child

You're ours, but not by birth

But just the same, we feel

You're the greatest child on earth

You're a chosen child

Sent down from God above

Chosen to fill our home

With laughter and love

You're a chosen child

You've given us so much pleasure

Chosen above the rest

A precious, priceless treasure

I would like to share some quotes with all of you

“Baptism is the initial step of a faithful heart.”

“Baptism is faith in action.”

"In order to live a life of holiness, we must first receive new life from God — we must be born from above."

Here is what I would like to leave all of you with tonight: The rain on my chest is a baptism- I am born again.
