What The Bible Says About The Holy Spirit Dwelling Within Us

Tonight I want to talk about what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit Dwelling Within Us. Tonight we are going to look at some scriptures about the Holy Spirit Dwelling Within Us. The scriptures we are going to look at tonight are Acts 2 verse 38, Romans 8 verse 9, John 14 verse 26, Acts 1 verse 8, Romans 8 verse 11, John 16 verse 13, Romans 8 verse 26-27, Galatians 5 verse 22-23, 1 Corinthians 3 verse 16, Acts 13 verse 2, Genesis 1 verse 2, Romans 15 verse 13, Romans 5 verse 5, Acts 4 verse 31, John 17 verse 17, Matthew 1 verse 18, 2 Peter 1 verse 21, 2 Timothy 2 verse 2, 1 Corinthians 6 verse 11, John 14 verse 17, Matthew 3 verse 11, Isaiah 11 verse 2, John 20 verse 22, Job 33 verse 4, 1 John 3 verse 24, 1 Peter 1 verse 2, and the last scripture we are going to look at is 2 Timothy 3 verse 16.

I want to share a song with all of you, so we can get a better understanding of what we are learning about.

The song I want to share is Holy Spirit and the lyrics of the song say this: There's nothing worth more, That could ever come close, No thing can compare, You're our living hope, Your presence, Lord, I've tasted and seen, Of the sweetest of loves, Where my heart becomes free, And my shame is undone, Your presence, Lord, Holy Spirit, You are welcome here, Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere, Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for

To be overcome by Your presence, Lord, Your presence, Lord, There's nothing worth more, That could ever come close, No thing can compare, You're our living hope

Your presence, Lord, I've tasted and seen, Of the sweetest of loves, Where my heart becomes free And my shame is undone, Your presence, Lord, Holy Spirit, You are welcome here, Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere

Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for, To be overcome by Your presence, Lord, Your presence, Lord

Let us become more aware of Your presence, Let us experience the glory of Your goodness, Let us become more aware of Your presence, Let us experience the glory of Your goodness, Let us become more aware of Your presence, Let us experience the glory of Your goodness

Let us become more aware of Your presence, Let us experience the glory of Your goodness, Holy Spirit, You are welcome here, Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere, Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for

To be overcome by Your presence, Lord

When I think of this song, I think of how God comes into our hearts to prepare us for something great in life. I think of how He is building us up to share our testimonies with others. It makes me think of how God doesn't give us a Spirit of Fear but of a Sound Mind because He helps us see that when we have Him in our life and hearts, that we can do all things through Him that gives us strength. I want to share some quotes with all of you now.

''As the Sun can be seen only by it's own light, So Christ can be Known only by His Own Spirit.

Let us be guided by the Holy Spirit Allow Him to speak to our hearts and He will tell us this: God is Love.

I have a great need for Christ; I have a great Christ for My Need.

God is in our hearts and we need Him to help us with showing Love and Compassion towards others.

People in this world need to be shown Comfort, Peace, and we as children of God need to help others who want to come to know God, need to share God's Word with them, share how God is love, so they can start to build a relationship with God and have a personal Faith Walk.

Here are the two things I would like to end on.

Christ is a Substitute for Everything, But Nothing is a Substitute For Christ.

I have been Crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ Lives In Me.

What it means to show Mercy and Compassion towards one Another

Tonight I want to talk about what it means to show Mercy and Compassion towards one another. I want to look at scriptures that talk about Mercy and Compassion. The scriptures we are going to look at are Lamentations 3 verse 22-23, Micah 6 verse 8, Psalm 23 verse 6, 1 Peter 1 verse 3, Colossians 3 verse 12, 2 Peter 3 verse 9, Psalm 25 verse 6, Psalm 145 verse 9, Hosea 12 verse 6, and Psalm 86 verse 15.

The next scriptures we are going to looking at are Ephesians 4 verse 32, 1 Peter 3 verse 8, Matthew 9 verse 36, Romans 12 verse 15, Romans 8 verse 1, 1 Peter 4 verse 10, Psalm 116 verse 5.James 5 verse 11, Matthew 5 verse 9, Isaiah 30 verse 18, Psalm 78 verse 38, Luke 7 verse 13, and John 16 verse 33.

When I think of these scriptures I think of a song that talks about these two words and the song is called Mighty To Save. The lyrics of the song say this: Everyone needs Compassion, a love that's never failing let Mercy fall on me, everyone needs forgiveness the kindness of a Savior the Hope of nations. Savior He can move the mountains my God is mighty to save He is mighty to save. Forever, Author of Salvation He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave. This song reminds me on how God sent His Son to die on the cross for our sins, so that we could be forgiven. It reminds me on how Jesus showed Mercy and Compassion to those around Him and to His Disciples. God gives us Mercy and Compassion everyday and He helps to remind us that we can show Compassion towards one another by showing acts of kindness and love. We can show Mercy towards others by being a friend, by showing gentleness and patience. We can give them mercy by letting them know that we are here for them and that God's mercies are new every morning. God is our Refuge and Strength and He is Merciful and Just. God has given us a Heart of Compassion, and has given us Mercy and Forgiveness to help us with knowing how God is a Just God and will show Justice and help us to know how He is a Faithful, Loving, and Merciful God. I want to share another song with you called Mercy Is A Song by Matthew West. The lyrics of the song say this: Mercy is A Song, Singing to my Heart, telling me it's okay come just as you are. I never heard a melody like the one that's singing over me and I just wanna sing along cause Mercy is a song. When we think of these lyrics we think of how God can help us through any storm or trial that we face in life. God is always there no matter what and we our His children who need to show Compassion and Mercy towards others who may need it and want to come and know Christ. God has given us a way to show Mercy and Compassion to others who need it most.

Mercy is God's Favour that holds back from us what we deserve. Grace is God's favour that gives us what we do not deserve.

Mercy is what moves us towards God, while justice makes us tremble in his sight.

Test after Test I have failed but your infinite mercy still remains.

Here are the four things that I would like to end on tonight before we close in prayer and I share my prayer requests with all of you.

Use your Voice for Kindness, Your Ears for Compassion, Your Hands for Charity, Your Mind for Truth, and Your Heart for Love.

The Purpose of Human Life is to Serve and to show Compassion and the Will to help others.

Allow God to continually soften your Heart so that it beats for what His Heart Beats for- People.

Grace is when you get the good things you don't deserve. Mercy is when you're spared from the bad things you do deserve. God is generous with both.

Character Traits Bible Study

Tonight I want to talk about and look at some words that are in the Bible. I want to start off by looking at the words Fear and Heart. When we think of the words Fear and Heart, we look back to different stories in the Bible, and we think of scriptures that talk about what the Bible says about Fear and Heart. We're going to look at those scriptures now.

The scriptures we are going to look at are Isaiah 41:10, 1 John 4:18, Psalm 34:4, 2 Timothy 1:7, Joshua 1:9, Philippians 4:6, John 14:27, and Psalm 27:1. The next scriptures we are going to look at are Matthew 5:8, Psalm 51 verse 10, Psalm 34 verse 18, Proverbs 3 verse 5-6, Matthew 22 verse 37, and John 14 verse 27.

When we think of Fear and we think of Heart, we think of How God has not given us a spirit of fear but of a sound mind. Now let us talk about the word Fear for a moment because when we think of the word Fear, and how it relates to Heart, well sometimes we allow fear to come into our heart because we are scared but we also know that Fear is a liar. The feeling of fear that we allow come into our heart is allowing the enemy to come into our heart and say to us, I know that God has given you Joy, Hope, Peace, Kindness, Grace, Mercy, Friendship with others, has shown you Love, and I know you have Faith, and I know that the Discipleship that you have for God because you're a servant of His is great, but don't you ever get scared, don't you ever have a fear of loneliness, a fear of missing out? A fear of missing out on doing the things you love? While we may have a little bit of fear and feel loneliness, we as children of God don't let the enemy talk us out of all the things God has given us because if we did we would be lonely, feel loneliness all the time. We wouldn't have Joy to be happy, we wouldn't have peace because we feel scared and lost all the time. We wouldn't have all of these things that God has given us in our hearts, to know that the plans that He has for us are not to harm us but to give us a hope and a future. It's just like in a Matthew West song where it says Hold on cause that's when Hope returns. We have to have Discipleship, we have to have Hope, Mercy, Love, Kindness, Grace, a Childlike Faith, Joy, Peace, and Love towards one another. If we don't have these traits, if we don't have any of that, the only thing that we have left is loneliness and fear. The only thing that we will have is a spirit of loneliness and fear. Although scripture says: For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of a sound mind. I mentioned that twice tonight because I feel it's important to understand what we are learning.

The reason I'm not giving out more scriptures on all of these words is because I want us to be able to share things in a minute, but I want to take a second to ask these two questions to all of you. The questions I have for all of you tonight is this: When we take all of these traits and we read about them in the Bible, how can we remember to apply the good traits to our lives, and not worry about the traits that God doesn't want us to worry about all the time like loneliness and fear? How can we take what we learned about last week about Salt Of The Earth, and apply it to what we've been learning about tonight? These are the things that I would like to end on tonight in hope that what we take away from tonight, we will and are able to share it with somebody who may need to hear it for themselves as well.

The first thing I would like to leave with is this: When character is lost, All Is Lost.

The second thing I would like to leave with is this: Every problem is a character-building opportunity.

Here are the last two things I want to end on.

Great character like massive roots, grow deep when water is sparse and winds are strong.

The last thing I would like to end on tonight says this: ''A enduring heart shows the courage of God in your character. A persistent heart shows the Faith of God in your character. A affectionate heart shows the love of God in your character. Most of all No One has the power to take God away from you.''

Salt Of The Earth

I want to talk about Salt Of The Earth. Before I begin, Bianca will you open in prayer tonight please? Thank you for praying. I want us to look at some scriptures tonight, before we do that though I want to share some things. The first thing I would like to share is a quote. The quote says this: We are God's people and our purpose is to become the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

The second thing I would like to share is a quote that says: The Bible says that Christians are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. On the job, in the grocery store, and even among unsaved friends and family members, God's people are there to bring seasoning to an unsavory situation.

The third thing I would like to share is another quote that says:

I would now like to go into some scriptures and the scriptures that I would like to look at tonight are Matthew 5 verse 13-16, Mark 9 verse 49-50, Leviticus 2 verse 13, Colossians 4 verse 6, Zephaniah 2:9, Romans 12 verse 1, Luke 14:34, Matthew 28:19-20, and Ezekiel 43:24. Thank you all for reading.

In the scriptures we look back to some of the quotes we heard tonight and look at the scriptures we see how God shows us how we are the salt of the earth but how we are also the light of the world. God shines a light for us and He gives us the wisdom and knowledge to be a light for others and to be a disciple to tell others about who He is and what His Word says. We can tell others about Jesus in many different ways. We can tell them by sharing His Word with others, and we can tell them about Him by also spreading the love God gives for us by doing an act of kindness and by sharing His Truth.

I would like to share a song with all of you and the lyrics of the song say this: I’m the Salt of the earth, I’m the Salt of the earth, I carry the Flavour of God, I season the earth
I am the City built on a high hill, Like the yeast, I influence/leaven the world, I am rich, I am prosperous, I am blessed
I am light of the world, Oh, I’m the light of the world, I shine the light, of God, Upon the earth

I would like to share another song that is by Matthew West and the lyrics of the song says this: We are the salt of the earth, We are a city on a hill, We're never gonna change the world, By standing still, No, we won't stand still, No, we won't stand still, No, we won't stand still, No, If not us, then who, If not me and you, Right now. It's time for us to do something, If not now, then when, Will we see an end, To all this pain, It's not enough to do nothing, It's time for us to do something, It's time for us to do something, It's time for us to do something

These are the other things I shared from tonight's study, and I hope that it can help you as well.
Let us remember how God gives the courage and strength to be who we are called to be.
Who we are meant to be and who we are as His Children.
