What Does The Bible Say About Spoken Word?

Tonight I want to talk about what the Bible says about Spoken Word. The scriptures we are going to look at are 2 Peter 3 verse 9, 2 Timothy 3 verse 15, Proverbs 16 verse 24, Hebrews 4 verse 12, and Matthew 4 verse 4. When I was trying to figure out what to talk about, I thought of speaking on Compassion and then I thought of talking about Inspiration. So then I finally typed Spoken Word and started looking up scriptures. I will be honest I didn't know how to go about it at first because this was a topic for me that was new, and something different. I almost had gone with a topic I already did, because I just couldn't come up with anything this past Sunday and so I came up with something different. When I think of Spoken Word, I think of how it is poetry, but it also makes me think of Mercyme's song Word Of God Speak where some of the lyrics of it say: I'm finding myself at a loss for words And the funny thing is it's okay, The last thing I need is to be heard But to hear what You would say, Word of God speak Would You pour down like rain, Washing my eyes to see Your majesty, To be still and know, That You're in this place, Please let me stay and rest, In Your holiness, Word of God speak, I'm finding myself in the midst of You, Beyond the music, beyond the noise, All that I need is to be with You, And in the quiet hear Your voice Word of God speak.

We hear God speak to us through music, through His Word, through sermons we hear at church, and we know He hears us when we pray and when we need Him. I know that God hears us when we talk to Him. He speaks to our hearts and He helps us know that we don't have to be afraid because we have God to help us. I want to share a quote with all of you and the quote I would like to share with all of you says this.

When I think of these quotes I think of how God's Word that God speaks to us can speak directly to our hearts, through a book, a song, a Christian film, and so many different things around us. One thing we will never ever forget is how God doesn't stop loving us and how He will help us with saying the right words.

God will give us what we need to know when we need to know it and He will help us to understand what we need to understand, because we don't need to worry with what God puts on our hearts to share because the words God put on our hearts is what we should be able to share with others wherever we go.
