Reason For The Season Christmas

Isaiah 7 verse 14: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

James 1 verse 17: Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

1 John 5 verse 11: And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Romans 15 verse 13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 20 verse 35: In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’'

1 Chronicles 16 verse 11: Look to the Lord and his strength; seek His face always.

Luke 2 verse 1-21: In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.  When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,  and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

John 14 verse 27: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

In every scripture, we see how it's important to remember the Reason For The Season.

We see how Christ came into this world, so that He could save us from our sins, so that He could forgive us, so that we could have life everlasting and good will toward men.

Now while part of the good will toward men is in scripture and we recognize that, we see how God gave His One and Only Son so that we could live, and that we could honor Him too.

Hope's Song

Now the link I'm sharing called Hope's Song is one I hope you guys will listen to this Christmas as it is a good reminder of why we celebrate, why we remember the true meaning of Christmas, and why in the heart of it all, how Jesus is the Reason for the Season.

''All the Christmas Presents in the world are worth nothing without the presence of Christ.''

May you have a blessed Christmas season and may the gift of Faith, the blessing of Hope, and the Peace of His Love be yours.

''We celebrate the first Christmas because we know there's a second coming.''

Christ The Savior Is Born.

These days peace on Earth is hard to find And I need you to remind me one more time, You're still the hope of Christmas, You're still the light when the world looks dark, You're still the hope of Christmas, And You're still the hope of my heart, Watch the snowflakes fallin' down, Like a blanket on this town, For a moment we can hardly see, The pain this year has brought us, May the sick find healing's touch, May hatred's fight be one with love And may every heart make room for You, The one who came to save us, 'Cause You're still the hope of Christmas, You're still the light when the world looks dark, You're still the hope of Christmas, And You're still the hope of my heart, You're the hope of Christmas.
Follow the star to a place unexpected, Would you believe, after all we've projected, A child in a manger?Lowly and small, the weakest of all, Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother's shawl, Just a child, Is this who we've waited for? 'Cause how many kings step down from their thrones, How many lords have abandoned their homes?, How many greats have become the least for me? And how many gods have poured out their hearts To romance a world that is torn all apart?, How many fathers gave up their sons for me? Bringing our gifts for the newborn Savior, All that we have, whether costly or meek, Because we believe, Gold for his honor, and frankincense for his pleasure, And myrrh for the cross He will suffer, Do you believe? Is this who we've waited for? How many kings step down from their thrones? How many lords have abandoned their homes? How many greats have become the least for me? And how many gods have poured out their hearts To romance a world that is torn all apart? How many fathers gave up their sons for me? Only one did that for me.
The world waits for a miracle, The heart longs for a little bit of hope, Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel, A child prays for peace on Earth, And she's calling out from a sea of hurt, Oh come, oh come, Emmanuel, And can you hear the angels singing, Glory to the light of the world, Glory, the light of the world is here, The drought breaks with the tears of a mother, A baby's cry is the sound of love, Come down, come down, Emmanuel
He is the song for the suffering, He is Messiah, the Prince of Peace has come, He has come, Emmanuel.
In these final moments of all the songs shared, I wanted to end on that because I thought it was important to remember how Jesus is the Reason for the Season this Christmas and as we get ready to celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, what better way to have a study talking about that and what better way to end the Christmas Season in 2024 of December then with a study like this because while we do celebrate Christmas as the Birth of Jesus, we know what the true meaning in the Heart of Christmas, and we know that it's God's doing to help us learn that every single time out, so we don't lose heart or sight in what the true Spirit of Christmas is about, because we know God is Love.
So as we celebrate with family, friends, with friends who have become family online as well, let us never truly forget this Christmas and never let us forget the true meaning of Christmas in the heart of it all, because without the true meaning of Christmas we wouldn't know what to do, because Christ is our true and remarkable and shining Light that Lights the way when it's dark, because I want to let everyone know that there is Hope In The Dark, you may not see it but it's there and God is Hope and He is Love.
